20 Caribbean and U.S. Kid Friendly and Luxury Hotels

Summer Fun at Monarch Beach Resort

Luxury Resorts that offer Kid Friendly activities will make everyone happy (and relaxed) during your next family getaway.  These are a few of the top 20 Kid Friendly Luxury Resorts.  Which one appeals to you?

Cape Cod’s Wequassett Resort and Golf Club offers large suites, poolside cabanas, cocktails and mocktails and boat rides to the Outer Beach.  The Children’s Program offers high-tech indoor amenities and a nautical themed outdoor area (and a luxurious hideaway for mom and dad).

Go west to Lone Mountain Ranch in Big Sky, Montana and enjoy a visit to Yellowstone National Park – it’s the centennial, after all.  The resort is on a 160-acre private ranch and offers horseback rides, lake fishing, fly fishing, hiking, and renovated cabins on the river. Kids will love the outdoor adventure program and mom and dad might like some R&R with a massage or yoga class.

The Montage Laguna Beach set on a bluff offers stunning ocean views and a relaxing kick off to a California getaway. Recently renovated suites at 1,200 square feet offer ample family space, children’s programs for adventure and creativity, tennis, golf, spa and whale/dolphin watching.  Beaches are accessible.

The Peninsula Chicago offers 339 (newly designed) rooms and access to the top attractions in Chicago.  They offer children’s tables at their Sunday brunch, a two-story wellness spa and a program called ‘Keys to the City,’ which offers access to the top attractions like the Field Museum, The Art Institute of Chicago and the Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier (and other Chicago activities).

Aloha! Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina, Oahu, Hawaii – This recently opened resort, which is next door to the Disney resort (Aulani) offers a shared lagoon, pools, beachfront water spots, and access to the Golf Club.  Kids will love the activities offered and this luxury resort also offers kid-friendly spa services.  Shared time in the spa? Ah!

Go west to Dunton Hot Springs (Colorado) to this all-inclusive resort built at an old mining town.  Explore a ghost town, go fly fishing, rafting, horseback riding and enjoy all the adventurous opportunities at this resort.  If you postpone your family getaway to winter you can go skiing and dogsledding.  Movies for kids and wine tastings for parents (right next door, too). (They also offer Luxury Glamping!)

Mohonk Mountain House, New Platz, New York – this lakeside luxury resort is about 1.5 hours north of New York City and is family owned (fifth generation).  Different highly rated programs for kids vary by age – they can explore, learn and have fun (scavenger hunts, fossil hunts, tennis clinics….you get the picture!).  Mom & Dad can explore, relax and enjoy hiking, golf, mindfulness meditation and a wellness spa.

Monarch Beach Resort, Dana Point, California – Recently renovated ($40 million) this resort offers the newly built Miraval Spa and also offers yoga and meditation for kids (amazing opportunity for kids to begin this practice early in life).  There’s a new pool area (with cabanas), restaurants, surfing lessons and a beautiful private beach.
