Here is the Playground for Everyone Who Needs a Play Date

The best all inclusive resorts in Mexico has to include the Grand Hotel Paraiso.

The Grand Hotel Paraiso spares no expense when it comes to pampering its guests

Sitting on the shores of Mexico’s Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen, the Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso, the first resort in the company’s Grand Collection, has spared no expense in creating an opulent playground reserved exclusively for adults.

Stunning Neo-Renaissance architecture, pampering from private butlers, an eclectic array of cuisine options and staff that invariably know guests by name no matter where they are on the expansive property are part and parcel of the resort’s appeal.

Fanciest and Most Common Accommodations: For as big as the property is – and it’s big – there are only just over 300 suites. There are 10 villa one-bedroom accommodations with a private pool, two Presidential Suites and two handicapped-accessible suites.

The Presidential Suites feature walk-in closets; spacious living areas with a separate dining room and kitchenette; extra half-baths; and wrap-around terraces with sea views, whirlpools, sun loungers and hammocks. Villas are equipped with living rooms with garden views, private pools and outdoor garden areas.

The most common accommodations are 120 Ocean Front Grand Suites facing the water and 180 Grand Suites overlooking the water or gardens. Suites include sitting areas and provide balconies overlooking the sea, complete with a hammock-style swing and an outdoor sofa. Other features include elegant marbled his-and-her vanities, an oversized whirlpool tub and a soothing rainshower showerhead. Beds feature European linens.

Guests can ask their butlers about a selection of pillows to choose from. The butler will also stock minibars with spirits, mixers, wines and champagnes of each visitors choice. Guests can enjoy breakfast lunch, dinner, or even a 2 a.m. snack in bed.

What’s Included: Rates include all meals and snacks, Wi-Fi throughout the resort, top-shelf spirits, wines, beer, soda and iced tea. Since the property is so big, Iberostar staff will pick guests up upon request with a golf cart to shuttle them back and forth between their suites, the restaurants, the shopping mall (yeah, there’s that too!) and adjacent properties, which they have access to as Grand Paraiso guests.

Best Entertainment: Whether your client’s preference is to lounge poolside or have a more active getaway, it’s all here. Activities include wine tastings, cooking classes, dance lessons, use of the fitness center, and yoga, tai chi and spinning classes. An entertainment venue features nightly live shows, as well as a disco. Guests can also take advantage of entertainment options at nearby Iberostar sister properties.

What’s for Dinner? The Grand Paraiso restaurants include Venezia (Italian), Haiku (Japanese), L’Atelier (gourmet), Toni’s Surf & Turf and Bella Vista Buffet. Recommend that your clients try L’Atelier, which features a French slant. The soufflé is to die for. The resort also offers 24-hour room service.

Who will you notice at this resort? The best way to describe the typical guests at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraíso is this: seasoned travelers whose expectations have grown in tandem with their income. While guests range in age from their 20s to their 60s, many are couples in their 40s. The resort is also a favorite among wedding couples and honeymooners, and those celebrating an anniversary.

Insider Booking Tip: Couples looking for the ultimate getaway have been known to splurge on Ocean Front and Presidential Suites. These accommodations come with Grand Star Service, which includes luggage unpacking and packing, breakfast in bed and private transportation within the resort.

The service at the resort is impeccable. From serving beachfront drinks to drawing baths, butlers are there to anticipate your clients’ needs. SPA Sensations is certainly another selling point, and includes virtually any type of service your clients can imagine, including Turkish and Roman baths. The property also features an 18-hole championship golf course designed by P.B. Dye.
