Jamaica is ramping up marketing their brand to Armenia.
Edmund Barlett, Minister of Tourism for Jamaica announced a new partnership that will be selling destination Jamaica with Qatar Airlines transporting tourists to the island.
Minister Barlett says the effort will result In more visitors and a wide diversity of economic opportunities with the local tourism economy.
The Minister attended the 38th plenary session of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) where he met with affiliate members in Armenia earlier this month.
That meeting included a discussion of tourism trends, public-private collaboration and promoting good practices in the tourism sector.
All of this unfolds as the Caribbean nations are preparing for what the UNWTO calls 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development.
