If the Griswold family didn’t put you off the idea, and you’re considering a family vacation for 2017, start planning now, and suit every member of your family with our list of best all inclusives for family reunions.
A time to remember
A full-on family reunion can be a fabulous and memorable occasion, with the whole tribe gathered together in one place – it makes perfect sense to make that a stunning location with an all inclusive vacation. Once the luggage has been unpacked, and everyone is relaxed, you’ll be looking for amenities and activities to pass the time, preferably tailored to keeping everyone entertained. Togetherness is just grand, but everyone needs their own special space too. It’s important to bear this in mind before you book – get the location right and you will be assured of a superb time, making memories for the whole family to cherish. Let’s take a look at some resorts and their speciality amenities, providing the perfect place for your all-generation family reunion.
Suiting everyone

- Cool kids clubs
- Teen hang-outs
- Specialist water sports and instruction
- Angling or fishing
- Family friendly OR Adult only restaurants
- Great golf facilities
- Adult only nightclubs or areas
- Mobility-friendly resorts – use of motorised scooters or golf carts
All of these options, plus the usual superb swimming pools and beach accessibility, will ensure a fabulous time will be had by everyone. However, if you choose a larger resort check them out first to determine the ease or difficulty of getting around for older members of your family – for example El Dorado Royale or Casitas Royale are more spread out but offer golf-cart service for getting around. Those with severe mobility issues may prefer a more compact resort where cart service is unnecessary because there’s little walking needed. And check to be sure there’s an elevator and/or ramp wherever you find a staircase.
If you have older family members who can’t abide being around a lot of noisy youngsters, consider a family resort that has separate adults-only buildings and pools (such as the Hard Rock Riviera Maya, below), or co-located family/adults-only resorts, like the aforementioned El Dorado Royale/Casitas Royale (adults only), and it’s right-next-door Generations Riviera Maya (for families).
