Karisma – $1B Investment in Multi-Resort Project in Jamaica

Karisma $1B Jamaica Project
Karisma Hotels

Wow-ee!
Karisma is on a HUGE growth path.  Their investment will help Jamaica reach its goal, which is to have 15,000 rooms by 2021.

In a nutshell: This is pretty big news as after a three-plus-year wait for approvals, Karisma can now move forward and break ground in early 2020.  The investment is $1B for Sugar Cane Bay a multi-resort project in St. Ann, which will add 4800 rooms over a 10-year period.

So this isn’t going to be one big resort – there will be several hotels, an entertainment center, residential development, and retail – and likely the biggest project for Karisma.

This new 226-acre property – in an unspoiled area in Llandovery, St Ann- is about 10-minutes from Ocho Rios.

And a project of this size brings new jobs to the area – it will add about 8000 new jobs in Jamaica plus about 5000 outside the area.

If you’re a Karisma fan then you know there is already 1 resort, The Azul Beach Negril in Jamaica.

Could this be the new ‘it’ place in Jamaica when ready?  We’ll be watching …
