Barbados is becoming the ‘it’ place this year with new and renovated all-inclusive resorts popping up at every turn.
This luxury adults-only (18+) is located on the south coast of Barbados and is also walking distance to Oistins fishing village – this village may have been named after a landowner, Austin, well-known in Barbados as a rum drinking character. We can’t confirm or deny this tale.
The Abidah resort has a modern vibe with a glass exterior and those tropical colors we love and expect for an island getaway. All rooms have a private jacuzzi (spa pool) and a balcony. The Ocean Front Grand 2-BR Suite is something else – it has two huge balconies with the spa pool on one side and seating on the other.
Remous – the only restaurant – offers an elegant experience and each evening offers a different dining theme from Asian to Mediterranean cuisine. The British influence is apparent (and well-received) with the afternoon tea and scones.
Guests of The Abidah also have access to the dine-around program at sister property, Accra Beach Hotel and Spa, which is accessible via a shuttle. Golf and wedding packages are also offered.
Off-property fun could include the fish fry at nearby Oistin village – what’s really cool is that you can choose your fish (marlin, mahi-mahi, whatever is available) and then get it grilled (or fried) right there. It’s really like a beach party – music, games, and fun!
Shop ’til you drop in nearby Bridgetown, the capital, with plenty of areas for some selfies, too.
