New Safety Features – by Dominican Republic

Restoring Confidence in the DR
Excellence Resorts

As Mark Twain said, “If you don’t read the news you are uninformed. – If you do read the news you are misinformed.”

Have you heard the news about death, destruction, tragedy, and mayhem in the Dominican Republic?

In a nutshell: The Dominican Republic (DR) took a hit this year.   Tourist deaths caused a media frenzy.   Investigations found that some deaths were nefarious – some were of natural causes – and both were consistent (or lower) with previous years.   To backpedal out of this quagmire the Dominican Republic’s Tourism Office is working hard to rebuild traveler confidence and has initiated a number of safety measures.

Some of the new safety initiatives include resort inspections of their food handling process, multilingual staffing, additional training, a new emergency tourist center, security cameras, 24-hour security, 911 technology in every guest room, and additional staffing in the security and police sector.

Did you trust the media reports about the Dominican Republic and are you considering travel to the DR?
