Biting Down on Sucking It Up – Effective Immediately.

In a Nutshell:  No More, Nada, Not, Diddly Squat – AMResorts is eliminating the use of plastic straws, across all of their brands (Zoetry, Secrets, Dreams, Breathless, Sunscape, Now & Reflect), currently 55 properties.

Effective immediately, drinks will not be served with straws, but, upon request,  biodegradable options are available.

“AMResorts welcomes thousands of guests annually and knows the power a seemingly simple act can have on protecting the oceans and beaches our resorts call home,” said Colette Baruth, Senior Vice President Marketing, Sales & Distribution for AMResorts. “Our priority is to provide guests with an unmatched resort experience while maintaining eco-friendly practices in the process.”

Since 2001 AMResorts’ has integrated ‘responsible travel’ as part of its standard operating procedures and resort programs.  And, banishing plastic straws will surely make for cleaner waves as part of their practice to maintain eco-friendly destinations.  The company has stakes throughout Mexico, Jamaica, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Panama.
