More signs of growth for tourism in the Caribbean and Mexico with this news! Hilton, one of the world’s largest hotel chains, has partnered with Playa Hotels & Resorts and is jumping into the all-inclusive arena with 10 new all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico.
The all-inclusive arena has long been dominated with brands like Sandals Resorts, AMResorts, Karisma, Iberostar and Playa, of course. Even though Hilton has a presence in the all-inclusive market with 11 properties including Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa, this will certainly move them up the list with additional opportunities along with the intention to also satisfy their loyal guests and Hilton Honors members.
If you’re wondering how beneficial this alliance will be it’s important to note that according to lodging data company, STR, the Caribbean’s luxury all-inclusive revenue was $3.8B (yes, Billion!) in 2017 compared to $2.2B in 2012. This could be very good for the Hilton brand as we’re also seeing that Hyatt is expanding with Playa in the all-inclusive market.
Moving forward, Hilton and Playa will continue with renovating and rebranding eight additional resorts in the Caribbean and Latin America with a 2025 time frame.
