Getting there

Punta Cana International Airport is the Dominican Republic’s main airport, located a mere 45 minutes drive from Secrets Tides. Served by American Airlines, British Airways, Delta, Jet Blue, Southwest, SunWing, TUI and more, flights are easy to find. The Dominican Republic has two other international airports, Las Americas and Puerto Plata. Las Americas is in the country’s south, more than 200 kilometres from the resort, whilst Puerto Plata is even further away, 427 kilometres and six hours to the north-west. However, should the need arise to fly into one of these, the roads are good and there is a wealth of private and public transportation offerings.

Accommodation

Accommodations at Secrets Tides Punta Cana maintains the high standards expected of a Secrets Resort. Even the most basic Junior Suite is more than 660 square feet in size, with king size beds and a private balcony or terrace. You can pay a bit more for an ocean view, or a swim-out suite. Whichever option you choose, you will enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi, 24-hour room service, a minibar which is replenished daily, a Concierge, and more.

Dining and Drinking

When it comes to food, you have options at Secrets Tides Punta Cana. The six a la carte options include fusion flavours of South America at Tierra, steak and other grilled specialties at the beachside Seaside Grill and fresh seafood at Oceana. There’s something different at Meraki, offering Mediterranean-Asian fusion, well worth a go! Portofino serves contemporary Italian dishes and dinner at El Patio is taking a step back in time to experience the atmosphere of old world Mexico combined with the best modern (but still authentic!) Mexican food. There’s also an international buffet for when you can’t decide what you want, and a handful of snack bars and beachside hot dog stands for those on-the-go snacks.

When evening rolls around and it’s time for a drink… Oh who am I kidding… ha! Whenever it’s time for a drink, you once again have a number of choices. Live sports can be enjoyed at Desires Sports Bar, which turns into a music lounge when the sporting action is over. Manatees swim up bar is the place to enjoy a pina colada without getting out of the water, and Rendezvous is the chic lobby bar open from… gulp, 9am…helping you get an early start. Showtime allows guests to enjoy a drink whilst soaking up the resort’s nightly entertainment, and Sugar Reef pool bar is for keeping sunbathers hydrated. Who doesn’t love choices?!?
