[NEW] The Princess Grand Jamaica Now Open

Princess Grand Jamaica
Princess Hotels - Princess Grand Jamaica

Another week, another brand-new all-inclusive resort to shout at you about, on the sunny and rum-drenched Caribbean island of Jamaica.

In a Nutshell: Opened in April 2024, this brand new family-friendly resort, built by Princess Hotels & Resorts, is located right on the beachfront on Jamaica’s western coast. With more than 590 suites to choose from and a staggering five swimming pools (including slides) to enjoy, this resort promises much for families looking to enjoy some Caribbean sun.

The why

  • Perfectly set up for children, with dedicated children’s areas and pools, water slides, kids club, games areas and a dedicated children’s games and entertainment staff team.
  • Five swimming pools (including a rooftop infinity pool for Platinum Club bookings only), and an aquatic park with water slides.
  • A whopping 8 bars to choose from – including a sports bar – plus a 24-hour coffee shop.
  • Caters well to athletic types with a multifunctional sports field offering tennis, soccer, basketball and volleyball, as well as a top-quality fitness centre.
  • Swim-out suite options including access to semi-private pools, shared with just one or two other units.

Getting there

Check PricesPrincess Grand Jamaica is just over an hour’s drive from Sangster International Airport, the closest of the island’s three airports.

Transfer services from all three airports are readily available and much cheaper if you book in advance. As the island’s main aviation hub, Sangster International Airport is well-served by international carriers such as Delta, Southwest, TUI, United, Virgin Atlantic and more, as well as by regional carriers for those who may be visiting from another Caribbean destination.

Accommodation

The 590 rooms and suites at the Princess Grand are split between different standards to suit all preferences and budgets. Features of the Princess Junior Suite include more than 550-square feet of space and a private balcony. King sized beds are provided as standard, bathrooms are equipped with a rain shower and all rooms come with a 55-inch HD TV. Other amenities include a well-stocked minibar and tea and coffee making facilities. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available through the resort, including in-room. The Princess Junior Suite can be upgraded to a swim-out suite.

The next step up is the Luxury Junior Suite, also with swim-out upgrade. At more than 720 square feet, these larger rooms are equipped with a hydromassage hot tub and private terraces or balconies boasting an additional 260 square feet of space! Enough room for you?

If the answer is no, then the Platinum Junior Suites are the top offering, coming with butler service, private balcony and separate seating area and a hydrotherapy hot tub. Plus, a range of Platinum Club benefits including access to the aforementioned infinity pool, a private bar, early check-in and late check-out. For those travelling with children, family suites equipped with bunk beds are also available.

Dining and Drinking

And now for my favourite part of writing up these new resorts, and one I should really do AFTER dinner and not before… with five dedicated restaurants and a selection of snack bars, plus a beachside food truck, you aren’t going to go hungry at the Princess Grand Jamaica. There’s an international buffet restaurant, known as Food Market, which serves a range of local and international dishes certain to satisfy even the fussiest youngster. The a la carte Il Palazzo offers Italian dishes in an opulent setting, whilst El Delirio specializes in Mexican cuisine. Jamrock is the place to eat locally inspired Caribbean food, and there’s spectacular Asian fusion dishes at Fusion 360.

For drinks, there are a number of options including a lobby bar and a beach bar, plus the MVP Sports Bar. This venue serves a range of food and drink and displays all the latest sports action from around the world on a plethora of screens.

Entertainment

Along with the five swimming pools, the Princess Grand Jamaica also has a top-of-the-range gym (weights & cardio), multi-sports field, and your classic all-inclusive nightly entertainment and live shows. You’ll also find dance classes, yoga and water sports such as water polo, kayaking, parasailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. Last but far from least…. how does a Jamaican party boat sound? Mighty fine, if you ask us.

Conclusion

This new resort has everything you could want from a luxury all-inclusive. The ratio of amenities and facilities to rooms means no overcrowding and plenty of space for kids and adults alike to enjoy their time on Jamaica’s west coast at this exciting new resort.
