Looking for a new place to chill this summer?

The renowned AIC Hotel Group (the company behind the Hard Rock Hotels all-inclusive lineup) has unveiled a new brand (AVA) that it promises will be an ‘elevated’ all-inclusive experience for guests of all ages. AVA’s first resort will open in Cancun, Mexico in time for the 2024 summer season.

In a nutshell: Check PricesAVA Resort Cancun is a family-friendly, luxury all-inclusive resort boasting more than 1,700 rooms and suites – each and every single one ocean facing. A perfect location on the Mexican Caribbean and just a 10-minute drive from Cancun Airport, the resort promises five-star bespoke luxury in an all-inclusive setting.

So, let’s see what all the fuss is about!

The Why:
  • A sophisticated and simple yet refined design.
  • We’ve already said it, but it’s worth repeating. ALL rooms are ocean-front, so NO grumbling about views of the parking lot!
  • Get your chill on in the 66,000 square foot Spa, or work that booty in the 11,000 square fitness center.
  • More dining and drinking options than you’ll know what to do with – 17 different bars and restaurants to choose from.
  • Late night fun for night owls in the form of a whiskey lounge, after-hours club and a speakeasy (squee!).
  • Bring the kids along, as AVA Resort Cancun welcomes children of all ages.
  • There’s modern and then there’s modern. Not many all-inclusive have their own NFT Bar, with digital NFT artwork on display (yes, I had to Google “whats an NFT” too, LOL).

Getting there

Cancun’s International Airport is just 10 miles away from the Check PricesAVA Resort Cancun, a drive of about 15 minutes, so you’ll be hitting the beach in your teeny bikini in next to no time at all. It won’t be long before you can reach the resort via Mexico’s grand new infrastructure project, the Maya Train, too!

Accommodation options

No matter which room category you choose, you’ll be floored by the large floor-to-ceiling windows and those stunning ocean views. The resort’s signature King & Queen rooms are equipped with a King bed or two Queens, an elegant spa-inspired bath and a private terrace complete with a two-person spa hot tub! Things get even more glamorous with the AVA Penthouse Suite and the AVA Gala Suite, both dripping with opulence and space, including large living areas, workspaces and grand master bathrooms (I’m already dreaming about staying in one).

Unparalleled Dining

Now, I’ve written about LOTS of all-inclusive resorts… and 17 options for dining and drinks is a record (or close to it), I’m sure. With endless mouthwatering options to try, if you get gastronomically bored it’s because you’re just not trying. There’s modern Peruvian cuisine at Aji, steak grilled on an open fire at Black Iron and Italian specialties at Veranda. Shall I keep going? You’ve got Mediterranean mezze at Livo, authentic Mexican at Copal and classic Parisien bistro vibes at Chez Moi. And that’s just the a la carte restaurants!

There’s also the Food District, defined as a ‘gastro-market’, where you can grab snacks and light bites from regions around the world, a sort of all-inclusive, luxury food court. Mexican snacks can be enjoyed at Plaza MX and if the all-inclusive tequila gets a bit much then you can enjoy locally sourced coffee and fresh pastries at Aroma Café and Bakery. Hungry yet?

Nightlife

Yes, it’s family-friendly, but that doesn’t mean you need to go to bed early, unless you want to! AVA Resort Cancun is home to a fully-fledged nightclub, DEZ. Hosting celebrity guest DJs, craft cocktails and special events, it’s a great place to let your hair down and show off that booty you spent the morning working on at the gym. For a little more sophistication, there’s Kantina 1953, a traditional Mexican cantina serving local beer and craft cocktails. Or there’s Handsome Harry, a speakeasy serving an array of whiskeys. With several swim up bars, you don’t even need to get out of the pool to enjoy a beer or cocktail either.

Private Lagoon

As well as the classic all-inclusive facilities such as three swimming pools, a kids club, shopping, a fitness centre and Spa, AVA Resort Cancun features a 2.8-acre man-made lagoon. I LOVE that the AVA Bay is a sustainably constructed facility, with modern technology ensuring it uses 50X less energy and importantly, 100X fewer chemicals than a swimming pool of equal size, to create an idyllic water playground perfect for swimming, sailing, kayaking and floating.

Conclusion

There’s no doubt that AVA Resort Cancun is a bold step forward for the all-inclusive experience. With its simple luxury, incredible facilities and enough dining options to make you drool, it’s for sure going to prove popular. AVA are taking bookings now, for 2024 and beyond.
