Marriott Jumps Into Curacao and Jamaica

BAI Exclusive Deals

Marriott is on the move!  Nothing like momentum when you’re expanding your all-inclusive portfolio in the Caribbean.

In a nutshell: Marriott is under contract with developers for two more all-inclusive resorts  – one will be a 283-room Autograph Collection Hotel on Curacao and the other will be an 800-room Marriott Hotel in Jamaica.

Here’s what we know –

The (already named) 800-room Marriott Hotel Al Amaterra,  which sits on three miles of beachfront, is part of a mixed-use development in Trelawney, Jamaica. Construction is to begin in early 2020 according to Amaterra Group, the hotel’s owner. No word on the anticipated completion date yet.

And, this is also really good news for Jamaica tourism as they’re seeing an increase in new hotels island-wide.

Marriott already has a hotel presence in Curacao (not all-inclusive, of course) – and it actually just recently opened.  I digress!  But, the soon to be oceanfront all-inclusive on Curacao, will be the first franchised all-inclusive, as an Autograph Collection hotel located in the historic Pietermaai area of Willemstad, the capital of Curacao.   Construction for this 283-room hotel is expected to begin next summer and they anticipate completion in 2024.

So now Marriott will have an all-inclusive presence in Barbados, Curacao, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Mexico.

Where to next, Marriott?
