[NEW] Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana

Moon The Grand Punta Cana

Apparently, the Caribbean needed a bigger, blingier palace to distract us from all that boring sun and sand on the beautiful beaches of the Dominican Republic.

In A Nutshell:  Set on a Greg Norman‑designed 18‑hole golf course, the brand new (from the ground up) Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana features twin 18‑story towers with ocean and fairway views, up to 3,350 rooms, 20 restaurants, numerous bars, multiple pools (including a waterpark and wave pool), spa, casino, kids/teens facilities, bowling alley and convention space — all opening in early Spring 2026.

This new family-friendly resort, Check PricesMoon Palace The Grand Punta Cana, is located in the Macao area of Punta Cana, was initially slated for 2,100 rooms.  Then Palace Resorts went all in and announced that they’ll add an additional 1,250 rooms……for a grand total of 3,350 rooms.  Rooms will be spread out over 18 floors.

“Expanding the Moon Palace brand is part of our company’s long term growth strategy… The development in the Dominican Republic was a natural fit… given its popularity in the Caribbean.” ~ Gibrán Chapur, Executive Vice‑President of Palace Resorts.

This mega-sized resort will also have its’ own food distribution center since it will take a village to support this resort.  In a unique twist, they will also add housing for the resort staff.

Breaking Ground for the brand new Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana
Palace Resorts

Although it won’t be open until March 2026, here’s what we know: It’s a mega-resort…plans include 3,350 lavish rooms (including more than 70 ocean-view swim-up suites), 19 dining options, numerous bars (including 11 swim-up options), at least 9 outdoor pools (including a water park with slides, a wave pool, and a kiddie pool), as well as a Greg Norman-designed golf course, a world-class Spa, a bowling alley, a fitness center, various sports courts, and dedicated kids’ and teens’ clubs. Whew!

And if that’s not enough, the Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana will definitely include a large Vegas-style casino with gaming tables and slot machines, but the resort is currently still under construction so some of the details are still subject to change.

Palace Resorts is well-known for luxury family-friendly resorts and we LOVE the Check PricesMoon Palace The Grand in Cancun, so we have high hopes for their new Punta Cana property. We expect they’ll begin taking reservations this fall for their March 2026 opening, we’ll post a link once it’s available.

I’ll keep the sand warm for ya…..
