Chilling out is a lovely idea in theory, but in practice travelling on vacation with your children can be a whole heap of hard work.

That’s one of the main reasons smart families choose All Inclusive resorts; top-rated facilities and kids’ clubs can make your vacation with the kids a breeze, and not worrying about how much food or soda they consume lets you relax knowing you won’t be hit with a huge bill at the end of your trip.

And wallet-friendly last-minute deals and bargain breaks are always good news when traveling as a family…but when kids can stay free** at an all-inclusive it’s even better!

Tied to vacationing with really young children? It doesn’t have to be as exhausting as it sounds. Check out these best all-inclusives for younger kids:

Our top pick for the youngest vacationers is Azul Hotels, where up to 4 kids under 12 stay free when sharing a 2-bedroom suite with 2 adults. Few resorts do a better job at providing amenities and services for babies and toddlers, along with a stellar kids club that features supervised activities and their Nickelodeon Experience™ (kids can have breakfast with Spongebob!) and if that weren’t enough, an exemplary luxury experience and gourmet cuisine for adults too.

At the brand new Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana, two kids ages 3-12 can stay free and get slimed! Between Aqua Nick (with its water slides, splash pads, spray grounds and a lazy river) and Character Central (where they can hang out with their favorite Nickelodeon characters such as SpongeBob, Dora the Explorer, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) your kids will have the time of their lives, leaving you free to enjoy the beach, spa, or just some quiet ‘adults only’ time.

The Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa offers free stays for kids aged 5 and under, and their All inclusive package includes food, drinks, Kidz Klub, water sports and of course nightly entertainment. Meet up with other like-minded parents and kick back and relax, play golf, and enjoy some of the spa treatments on offer.

Dreams Playa Mujeres allows two kids under 12 to stay free. At this brand new resort you’ll find top-shelf luxury at every turn, their supervised “Explorer’s Club” for the little ones, a waterpark for the kids, complimentary greens fees at the Playa Mujeres Golf Course for the adults, and 9 restaurants and 7 bars on-site, along with exchange privileges for the grown-ups at Secrets Playa Mujeres located right next door.

Two under-12’s stay free with one paying adult at the Holiday Inn Resort at Montego Bay. The All Inclusive deals here are already great value, and the Activity clubs will keep the kids busy so you can enjoy the pleasure of the resort and nearby attractions.

Romantic rafting trips, shopping, dip in the cool waters of Dunn’s River Falls; enjoy a cup of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee or a round of golf at Cinnamon Hill Golf Course.

Iberostar Paraíso Lindo is also a fabulous choice for families with younger children, where 4-12 year old children will head straight for the kid’s club at a running speed – and you can take it down a notch or two and discover the stunning beach and stylish surroundings.

If your kids are tweens or teens

Great, your under 12’s are free, but what about that older sibling? traveling with teenagers can be difficult – don’t wait until you arrive to discover that the resort’s activities are just for tots and tweens. Cue marathon sulking session and a ruined vacation for you.

Instead, smooth the way and ensure that they are well catered for before you book that longed-for vacation by booking a stay at these best all-inclusive resorts for tweens and teens:

At Gran Caribe Real Resort & Spa your teen will be transformed into a happy and likeable person in just a few hours. Live music, beachfront Zumba, multiple swimming pools all combine to work their magic. There’s also a designated teen’s club, called T-Zone, where they can meet like minded friends, and plot and plan world doom together.

At the Royalton Punta Cana Resort & Casino two kids can stay free with two adults, and they’ll love the amazing waterpark, with numerous slides and pools. Adults will love the luxury amenities, fresh gourmet cuisine, free wifi, the amazing beach, and yes – a casino!

While you won’t find any ‘kids stay free’ deals for kids over the age of 12, there are still some great resorts that your older teens will love, with amenities and activities that will appeal to those between the ages of 12 and 17.

Choose the Deluxe Family Suite at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya, and up to two kids under 12 stay free. They have an amazing “Little Big Club” for your younger kids with loads of fun and games, and safe supervised activities, but they don’t leave out the older kids – teens will love their Music Lab, with its assortment of music and video programs such as Jam Band, Mix, and Rock Tube – all for those 12 and older.

Or check out Playacar Palace, where they often run ‘kids stay free’ promotions in the summer, and where you can get up to $1500 in resort credits (subject to 16% tax on credits used) that can be used for the Spa, off-site activities, and more…but best of all their close proximity to Xcaret Ecological Theme Park makes Playacar Palace ideal for older kids, teens, and adults.

** Note: many of these ‘kids stay free’ deals have restrictions or limitations including blackout dates or specific booking dates and/or room category restrictions, and/or may be seasonal promotions.

  1. My husband and I have been considering giving our daughter and her husband a vacation with their two teenage daughters. It’s great to give them a choice of an all-inclusive resort but even better for us to give them one where the girls though they won’t be staying free can at least have a selection of activities tailored to them. Thanks for the information. I’ll pass it on.

  2. Exactly Joyce, lots of activities to occupy them, so they make new friends and have their own memorable holiday! What a generous gift! If you require any further assistance please don’t hesitate to contact us, and Happy New Year.
