It’s all in the numbers! 20.6 million international visitors in Mexico through the first six months of 2018. That’s a lot of Tamales!
In a nutshell: Over 20M people can’t be wrong about visiting Mexico. These numbers represent a 7.3 percent increase compared to last year’s 19.2M during the first half of 2017. Hotels reported 70% occupancy during the summer holiday season and over 90% in Puerto Morelos.
They’re surely counting their pesos in Mexico!
This also benefited the area with excursions, shopping, local bars and restaurants as this overall increase in visitors equated to over $11B spent by tourists noting another increase over 2017. At this rate of growth, Mexico could see over 40M visitors by year end.
