It’s nice to be first and this Health Passport from American Airlines makes it a little easier for international passengers to fulfill the new CDC orders as they travel back to the United States.
American Airlines Expands VeriFLY Health Passport
American Airlines made this announcement in support of the new government requirement that all passengers two years of age and older traveling to the United States from any international location test negative for COVID-19 within three calendar days of departure.
The Travel Industry, from all inclusive resorts to tourist offices to airlines, have been doing everything possible to assist travelers during this pandemic and especially with the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requirement regarding international travel. American also offers a touchless check-in experience, which allows customers to proceed to the gate without touching the kiosk screen.
According to Julie Rath, Vice President of Customer Experience at American, “We’re expanding our work with VeriFLY to quickly evolve our usage of the app and make international travel easier for our customers. We support the implementation of a global program to require COVID-19 testing for travelers to the United States, and we want to do everything we can to make travel a seamless experience for customers. We’ve received positive feedback about the app so far and look forward to more customers having the opportunity to use it.”
VeriFLY is already being used from the U.S. to several countries including Jamaica, Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras and American Airlines reports that thousands of passengers have traveled using the app.
